Casual Publisher Outspark Secures Investment

Multiplayer online game publisher Outspark has announced that the company has received a Series A investment from Altos Ventures and DCM to further support and develop Outspark's games and distribution platform.

Headquartered in San Francisco and with a studio in Seoul, Korea, Outspark's only currently announced game is Fiesta Online, a "full 3D cartoon fantasy MMORPG based on brilliant and dynamic cartoon style graphic images" in which players can "form various and powerful community through the 'Kingdom Quest,' 'Master and Pupil System,' and 'Guild Growing System.'"

No further details have yet been announced from the company concerning launch dates, other prospective titles, or a disclosure of the amount of Altos and DCM's investment.

Said Altos general partner Han Kim, "Outspark is efficiently creating a new ecosystem for casual, multiplayer games played on the Internet. Drawing its experience from managing casual-games portals for companies including Yahoo!, Nexon, and NHN, Outspark's senior management team is equipped to deliver innovations Asian consumers already enjoy to a gaming-hungry U.S. marketplace."

Introduction to Fiesta Online

Fiesta Online is a full 3D cartoon fantasy MMORPG based on brilliant and dynamic cartoon style graphic images. The biggest characteristic of the game is that it can appeal to the users of various age groups and in many countries with the cartoon style graphics.

Concerning the graphics, it applies the cartoon mapping method to create exquisite balance between the fantasy and the real world through the characters with shorter proportions and real-life like backgrounds that are differentiated from existing realistic or SD style games.

Also, Fiesta Online is filled with a number of game content on the basis of basic elements of MMORPG including fighting, leveling, and the battle along with the straight forward interface and simple operation, to allow everyone to have fun. The game's biggest charm is that users can form various and powerful community through the 'Kingdom Quest' 'Master and Pupil System' 'Guild Growing System'. And the 'Mini House ' which is a private space inside the game. Additionally, the 'Weapon Titling' which gives unique title to the weapon with options when a character hunts a certain number of a specific monster using a specific weapon, Pet System, and various mini games have built up the exclusive characteristic of Fiesta Online's game system

Introduction
This is a normal MMORPG, with 3 races, Human, Elf and Dark Elf to choose from. The graphics might be new to some (refer to screenshots below), and its quite a refreshing change from games like Lineage 2 and Shaiya.

Class - Warrior

Race: Human only

Like any other Warrior classes, they have the highest Strength, Defense and HP. They are able to wield 2-handed weapons or hold a one-handed weapon with a shield. Warriors also wear the thickest armour in the game.


Class - Archer

Race: Elf only

Long-range attacker, with options of holding the bow or crossbow. This class is used for its stealth and trap-laying abilities.


Class - Priest

Race: Human only

The multi-task class. Capable of healing allies, deal ranged magic damage and melee damage. There are many types of Priests options avaliable, and players can choose how their Priest to be like by adding different stat points (e.g. for a melee Priest, add more to Strength). Wields a one-handed weapon and a shield.


Class - Wizard

Race: Dark Elf only

Lowest defense and HP, but the high damage makes it up for the Wizard class.

The 4 circled parts are the main maps of the world. The monsters in each map represents one of the 4 Symbols of Chinese Constellation:

Azure Dragon of the East
Vermilion Bird of the South
White Tiger of the West
Black Tortoise of the North
